The Children’s Museum of Houston has recently launched a new app designed as a digital learning tool for families. This innovative solution enables users to deepen their engagement with the museum's interactive exhibits in a meaningful way. Unlike typical apps that primarily provide information about museum hours and maps, this application offers a variety of features aimed at enriching the visitor experience:

• Discover new challenges for interactive exhibits
• Explore various concepts and phenomena
• Access ideas for home-based activities
• Provide feedback on activities
• Share experiences through social media
• And additional features are forthcoming

The museum invites visitors to contribute to the development of the app by using it while on-site and sharing their feedback and suggestions. This collaborative effort will ultimately lead to the creation of an open-source tool, allowing other museums to adapt it for their own exhibits.

This app is part of the "Extending and Customizing Learning" initiative, funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The project is spearheaded by the Children’s Museum of Houston, in partnership with notable institutions such as the Lawrence Hall of Science, Museum of Life and Science, New York Hall of Science, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Sciencenter, and Garibay Group.

A special acknowledgement is due to Pariveda Solutions and their nine interns from Summer 2014, whose dedicated efforts played a vital role in developing the initial version of this app.
